Commencement of Committee Meetings

From 19th May, 2008 to 15th August, 2008, the Conference commenced Committee meetings of the detailed consideration of the provisions of the Mung’omba Draft Constitution. Six (6) Committees have held their meetings and concluded consideration of the matters under their terms of reference. The Committee that have concluded their deliberations are:

• The Citizenship;
• The Democratic Governance Committee;
• The Judicial Committee;
• The Local Government Committee;
• The Public Service Committee; and
• The Public Finance Committee.

Five Committees are still to hold their meetings and these are:

• General Constitutional Principles Committee
• Human Rights Committee
• Executive Committee
• Legislative Committee
• Land and Environment Committee

The schedule of the meetings for these remaining committees will be announced in due course.
